Publications
1. During 2026, members of the Institute will actively publish on topics related to its core areas of activity through two main channels: conference papers and/or presentations, as well as the preparation of scientific articles for publication in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
2. Preparation of an academic publication (working manuscript) intended to support educational activities by providing specialized literature for teaching and training in the fields of nuclear security and the nuclear industry. This academic work is planned for publication during the first half of 2027.
Participation in Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, and Other Academic and Research Events
Participation of Institute members in academic and research events, including national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, round tables, and other initiatives in active roles (speaker, panel participant, session chair), with the aim of strengthening the Institute’s role as an important national center for enhancing research capacity in the fields of the nuclear industry and nuclear security.
Contribution of Institute members to educational and training activities through participation as lecturers or trainers in training courses and lecture programmes, including serving as consultants in the preparation of lecture materials and other educational resources aimed at increasing awareness and strengthening national research capacity in the fields of the nuclear industry and nuclear security.
Subject to the availability of resources, the Institute will organize—either independently or in partnership—one annual event (a national or international seminar, workshop, or conference during 2026) involving external participants from academia, industry, and public institutions. The event will be focused on supporting the Institute’s primary mission of enhancing research capacity in the fields of the nuclear industry and nuclear security.
National and International Cooperation
Organization of meetings with current and potential partners at local, national, and international levels. A priority is maintaining continuous communication and cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Ministry of Economy and Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria, Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD, and academic institutions.
During 2026, the Institute also envisages supporting the participation of outstanding UNWE students in internships and training programmes organized by, or jointly with, partner organizations in Bulgaria and abroad.
Note: During the implementation period of this plan, amendments or adjustments to the planned activities may be introduced depending on the availability of human, financial, and technical resources required for the functioning of the Institute, as well as in accordance with the Institute’s strategic objectives.
